The expression !hoi!
is the simplest greeting in Muai. Rigorously, it means that
whatever was said just before was a greeting:

hoi!
Muai:!hoi! English:Hi! Literally:Greeting!
That happens because hoi belongs
to the specifier word class, which means that it
specifies the preceding concept. In order to avoid that
ambiguity, one can say !hiu hoi!,
where hiu only means that a new
sentence, with no syntactical relation to what was said
before.
